Subtle Energies and the Uncharted Realms of Mind
An Esalen Invitational Conference
June 6 - 11, 1999

Talking Points

For the inaugural meeting, our agenda will be kept fluid to allow us to pursue whatever topics seems most compelling. However, the following three areas will constitute the bulk of our discussions.

  1. Current research that challenges objectivist model: psi, subtle energy, intentionality effects, healing influences. What commonalities do they share? What facets of the objectivist model do they overturn?
  2. Theories that may better account for these anomalies: subtle-energy bodies (from a cross-cultural perspective), fields of consciousness, engaged or participatory models of reality. What is the relationship between consciousness and subtle energy?
  3. Future work: what experiments will deepen our understanding of subtle energy and anomalous communication transfer and allow the empirical testing of new theories?
